Leading property and investment company Buccleuch Property has today launched the 15th edition of the Buccleuch Property Challenge. Taking place on Friday 8th September at Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfries and Galloway, the corporate adventure challenge sees teams from across the property industry compete against each other for the trophy. Over 80 teams of 3 people will compete in three categories – mixed, men’s and women’s. The course, which changes each year, is designed and delivered with BlueSky Experiences and participants can expect to cover around 50km of the Queensberry Estate over 6 hours.

The popular event is well known within the industry for being a test of fitness, stamina and mental capacity with a range of outdoor pursuits including running, mountain biking and orienteering alongside secret activities which are revealed on the day. In past events, teams have faced surprise challenges including obstacle courses, kayaking, Highland games and even a bushtucker trial.

Buccleuch Property is pleased to further announce that Horse Time will return as their Charity Partner for the event. Based in the Scottish Borders, Horse Time specialises in providing individual equine enhanced psychological trauma therapy and group workshop programmes with feedback from horses.  Horses are able to give immediate, honest and non-judgemental feedback on how our behaviour is interpreted by others. Experienced trauma therapists utilise appropriate strategies to provide the insight necessary to support the change process and subsequent recovery.

Programmes include Horses for Forces for veterans, first responders and their families, Horse ChAT for children and adolescents and a bespoke option tailored to individuals or small groups.  All money raised by the Buccleuch Property Challenge will go directly towards funding these programmes.

Following the cancellation of the 2022 Challenge due to the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, Buccleuch Property and Horse Time were extremely heartened by the generous donations of Challenge participants and supporters who raised over £6000. This funded a much-needed group therapy course for 6 participants who reported remarkable results.

To date, the Challenge has raised over £200,000, helping a variety of charities such as Projekt 42, Childline, Ovarian Cancer Action and Borders Children’s Charity.

David Peck, Managing Director at Buccleuch Property, said:

"It is an exciting time to be launching the Challenge and we always generate a great response from the industry for what is known as one of the best events of its kind that won’t disappoint participants and raises much needed funds for our Charity Partner.”
