The Buccleuch Property Challenge is the ultimate six-hour non-stop team-building adventure race. Together with BlueSky Experiences we have designed the event to not only to test your fitness level but your mind as well. The annually changing course is created over different stages to include mountain biking, running, orienteering and surprise activities. Previous events have seen obstacle courses, kayaking and sumo suits – there’s always something different!

      Rise to the Challenge

Starting from the breathtaking Drumlanrig Castle, Dumfries and Galloway, teams of three travel together through all the stages, competing against the clock and collecting race points as they go through the different checkpoints. The team with the most points and fastest time will win the event. A key part of the race is to plan your tactics, think about timing and, most importantly, work as a team. The course is different every year and surprise activities are only revealed on the day itself.

The course is for everyone, from first timers to experienced adventure racers, although a reasonable degree of fitness will only increase the enjoyment of the day.

There are three categories; all male, all female or mixed and companies are welcome to enter multiple teams.

To celebrate the achievement and hard work of the competitors, we host a BBQ in the Castle Stableyard after the race. This is followed by a prize giving ceremony, auction and raffle to raise funds for our chosen charity of the year , Chris's House.

Chris’s House was founded by Anne Rowan, a Wishaw mum with a passionate vision for a crisis centre established in memory of her son Chris, whom she lost to suicide in 2011 at the age of 36. She turned her attention to taking action – through the creation of Chris’s House, a ‘Centre for Help, Response and Intervention Surrounding Suicide’. It is the first 24 hour, non-medical crisis centre in Scotland offering integrated support.  Chris's House has been set up to offer a safe environment where people in, or approaching, suicidal crisis can have a safe place to go and get professional support.

      Preparation

      Mountain Bike Hire

A mountain bike is required to take part in the Buccleuch Property Challenge.

This year, BlueSky Experiences will be providing the mountain bike hire service, however we know they are experiencing difficulties in sourcing sufficient numbers; if it were at all possible to bring your own or even hire locally that would help ease some of the pressure.  Thank you.

If you do need to hire mountain bikes, helmets and a puncture repair kit for the Challenge, please go to the link below.  If you have any technical questions or are looking for some advice regarding the hire of bikes, please do not hesitate to contact Callum Gordon at BlueSky Experiences, direct on 07720 126 638.   Please note each team must carry a puncture repair kit and bring their own tyre pump.

      Buccleuch Property Challenge Bike Hire

      Mountain bike - £95
